On 25-26 May 2017, Shift Social Development hosted the inaugural Africa Shared Value Summit, modelled on the successful Shared Value Leadership Summit held annually in New York. The Summit, which will become an annual fixture on the global Shared Value calendar, aims to raise awareness and advocate for the success of the strategic implementation of the Shared Value business model which brings about social change while positively impacting profit. The Summit featured insightful speakers including Marc Pfitzer (FSG), Sazini Mojapelo (Absa/Barclays Africa), Doug Place (Nando’s), Motshidisi Mokwena (Nestle), Maria Cristina Papetti (Enel), and Sanda Ojiambo (Safaricom).
